Biology

With funding from a Department of Defense grant, biology major Benjamin Posorske 鈥20 is conducting platelet and stem cell research at Brigham and Women鈥檚 Hospital and Harvard Medical School. An聽聽co-authored by Posorske outlining a new method for developing non-donor-based platelet sources appeared in the academic journal Platelets.

Chemistry

Undergraduate researchers Christopher Latour 鈥18, and Chester J.J. Wrobel 鈥17 co-authored a report with聽Assistant Professor of Chemistry Abhishek Chatterjee聽on a new method to engineer and monitor protein functions to expand the understanding of the processes that guide protein functions in our cells. The report appeared in the journal Chemical Biology.

Environmental Sciences

Geological Studies major Anne Haws 鈥18 spent a week in Italy as part of an聽聽on subduction zones. Haws visited sites in the Western Alps and Apennines, collecting samples for her thesis. 鈥淚 knew that seeing these rocks in person would be an unparalleled experience,鈥 said Haws. 鈥淎s my advisor,聽Professor Ethan Baxter, often says, 鈥楨very rock tells a story.鈥欌澛
